"She had an immense curiosity about life, and was constantly starting and wondering."
- Henry James
There is a saying that goes "curiosity killed the cat" and to whoever said that, I have to humbly disagree.
Curiosity is the divine elixir that promises us eternal youth
An idea captivates us...
We feel that spark...
Something is calling your name...
There becomes a need to explore and expand, to study the human experience.
“A mind that opens to a new idea, never returns to its original size.” - Albert Einstein
Learning keeps us YOUNG
The world opens up to us again.
We can approach our new world with a child-like wonder, soaking up all of the information that comes our way on a daily basis.
We become a humble student of life.
Becoming and remaining a student creates a more harmonious existence because we see each event, situation, challenge, accomplishment, and person we encounter along the way, as lessons and teachers.
I made a personal commitment at the beginning of this year to make 2020 a year of learning
Initially, this was only an internal journey of deep meditation and external growth only within my occupational position.
Now, half way through the year I have reassessed.
For me, my study has evolved into the following:
- Learn from people who are masters at what they do
- Connecting with and expressing my creative energies without expectation... creating just for the sake of creation
- Reading more and expanding into different topics
- Intentionally stepping outside my comfort zone and putting myself out there
- Balance out the relationship with my ego, not letting any accomplishment or perceived "failure" get to my head
- Listening to my heart despite what my head may say
The second half of 2020 is something I am truly excited for.
As ever, Im fascinated by the existential and working on discovering myself on a deeper level - who I am, how I am, why I am, etc.
I've been learning crystal healing techniques and am in the process of becoming a Certified Crystal Healer because I know how much it could enhance and deepen my esthetic treatments and help my wonderful patients.
Becoming a Reiki Master has also been calling my name for the same reasons.
Learning more about investments, being a business owner, and incorporating my various interests into a sustainable business model are other things I'm working on in 2020.
Writing a book, becoming a better better cook, and learning how to be a better mother to my garden are featured on my list too.
I astound myself daily with how much I am learning and growing.
Follow those little feelings and signals from above; learning improves ALL areas of our lives - being a student makes us more well-rounded, more ourselves.
Curiosity is a call from out Soul, our Higher Self, to take a path of learning which can lead us to GREATNESS
What are you LEARNING this year?
